Re-Amping Studio Mayhem Comes Together Beautifully...
April 2008
Playing at the launch of Desso’s prestigious London showroom this month was a fantastic opportunity to play live again and show off some of my fabulous new material, and also give a welcome few day break from the relentless studio regime of late.
The second album is defiantly on the way... because let me tell you if it was a gourmet meal it would satisfy the harshest of food critics with ease.
All being well it will be finished in the next few months as work is now moving very quickly with the last few years of recording research paying the reward that had been sought.
I even re-amped some acoustic guitar in the hall of my flat this week with astounding results. This entails sending the signal through a speaker in the afore mentioned tilled room and then miking the ambiance of the space and mixing it back with the original signal to create a richer perhaps more citrusy sound.
I’ve used this re-amping technique extensively throughout the entire recording of this CD; from Bass to Percussion and Drums, making it all sound lively and fresh so it will jump out of your stereo in a magical 3D image.
There has been a lot of re-mixing of previous tracks with some sections re-recorded entirely to meet the strict criteria I've laid down to make it sound flawlessly smooth.
This glass smooth sound takes some work as each part has to be polished individually. There is no magic plug-in to do it for you.
It’s been good to get back to performing some commercial sessions this year as there seems to have been somewhat of a resurgence back to live music rather than the automated Virtual Guitarist plug-in’s which is good news for musicians and public alike.
If you love ‘Crazy Guitar Mashing Mayhem’ make sure you get down to my Ministry Of Sound debut gig alongside Judge Jules as part of the Judgement Sunday tour in London at the end of next month.

Studio Master Piece Almost Completed...
February 2008
Things are coming together very well during the many hours spent in the studio that I’ve been undertaking in order to complete my very long awaited second album, and also keep teaching and sessioning at the same time.
I feel at last I've really got a handle on recording and mixing in away that I'm completely satisfied with. The results are absolutely staggering. Even I can’t believe my ears at times, it’s that good I sit there almost going is that really me?
My aim for the next CD has been to hone melodies that the mass market understands rather than to make a virtuosic guitar record just to impress other guitarists/musicians.
While it is jammed full of great technique biased guitar playing it has main stream catchy hook riffs, melodies, and production.
I set out to make an album that would be packed full of great instrumental music along the lines of Mike Oldfield, Herbie Hancock, and Jean Michel Jar and I feel that this record is right on target.
Last month I performed a bass session on a track called ‘Crystal Eyes’ sung by Lucy Clarke (Spectacular Music) for a producer chap I met through Jules named Robin listen out for it this summer as it sounds incredible.
I’m intending to update the site this month with some more recoding techniques hot from the studio plus an Ibiza behind the scenes gallery.

MP3 Awards and Recoding live on the Tube?
December 2007
Recording the hustle and bustle on Bank Underground during a busy Monday afternoon is possibly one of the most exciting sound effects I’ve captured so far for my next CD.
One of the tracks on the album will start out sounding as though it were performed on a tube station with the back ground I’ve pre-recorded giving the ‘worldizing’ effect required, the only problem there after will be trying to recreate the same ambience in the guitar part so they match.
The tracks that are mixed are all sound astounding, with the aid of some revolutionary mix techniques that I’ve recently developed, and may share in more detail on the Recording Page when the CD is released.
I was lucky enough to attend the first ever MP3 awards at the Clapham Grand earlier this month, which by all accounts was a fantastic night. TL audio were the events main sponsor and the reason that I was able to attend, joining them on their V.I.P. table.
Well done to Roger the event organiser, I very much look forward to next year’s event.
There is a new social networking site for guitarists, bassists and drummers called Bum Note which is a fantastic concept and I’m one that I’m sure will be very useful. It will be going live this month so go check it out.
I’m looking forward to playing live on New Years Eve at Samphire Restaurant and being able to show most of my new material.
The 2nd Album should be done early next year, all being well as things now seem firmly on track for a fabulous result.

Guitar Mashing Album Mixing Update.
October 2007
If you’re into your guitar mash-ups then look back for conformation of more funky/electro house live gigs during the up coming months.
Progress in the studio is slow but steady some of the tunes are now finally fully mixed and ready for mastering.
The level of quality on this CD is unprecedented and I expect the out come to be unstoppable.
The collection of tunes that are emerging will more than match and raise the bar when pitched vs. anything currently available from the music industry.
There are only three tunes left to record to complete the project, but this has still to be finally decided, just as all the others were finely vetted to ensure a consistent level of quality with in the project as a whole.
At the end of August I invested in a new pair of Genelec 8030 (which must be the best in their class by some mark) near field studio monitors to ensure the utmost quality in the mix stages of this what now seems to have been a mammoth project.
There are some other top collaborations in the pipe line but it’s too early to say who and when but all will be revealed as they occur.
The release date of the CD is now looking like being early 2008.
I’m hoping the final mastering session will take place at Abbey Road provided I can book the right engineer when the time comes. This should ensure the best finish to an outstanding project.

Guitar Mashing Album Re-Mixing Update.
August 2007
I've been very busy in the studio this month starting to re-mix all the tracks for the album that I hoped to be out sometime this month.
I've been very busy in the studio this month starting to re-mix all the tracks for the album that I hoped to be out sometime this month.
I've discovered some very nifty mixing techniques that are making this collection of catchy tunes, outstanding! I promise it will be all worth the wait.
Looking forward to Jules remixing the collaboration track that we wrote together earlier in the summer around mid September time when he finishes the season in Ibiza.
During the summer he played it out gaining a very favorable reaction.
I also have a number DJ's interested in playing some of the tracks from new album as the re-mixing is completed.
When I played Angel Dust live last year the DJ from the club next door was late to work due to coming in and listening and then proceeding to beg me for copy of the tune to play in his set.
He's still waiting as nothing goes out until it’s properly finished, but hopefully not that much longer!
Check out the new photos from Pacha, London and the Thatched House on the re-worked Gallery Pages.
I've re-worked the Recording Techniques page so be sure to take a look at the new text as I think it may be more helpful.
I've given some product quotes to TL Audio for their new site which should replace the current one soon. Their gear is amazing so check it out.
Please visit back for more updates on the second album, future sessions, gigs and collaborations.

NEW! Tim Scott & Judge Jules Colaboration Track For The Summer.
July 2007
This month I've been very busy in the studio reworking the collaboration track that I've been doing with Judge Jules.
Most of the guitar has been changed to very much more rocky type of Van Halen, Joe Satriani sounding thing, with a monstrous stadium rock kind of sound, supplied by a cranked Soldano 4x12 stack.
Material for my new album is coming together very well indeed, hopefully to be out in the autumn.
Most of the photography for the CD sleeve artwork has been completed.
The new album is to be mastered at a very, very prestigious London studio that has an internationally renown pedigree. All will be revealed in the coming months.
New recorded tunes of my own include a track entitled 'Chasing The Dawn' which is to be the last track on the disc.
It rises majestically out of the filtered, delayed end of the previous track making a transition worthy the worlds greatest DJ's, due to its unparalleled smoothness.
Please visit back for more updates on the second album, future sessions, gigs and collaborations.
